Monoprinting

You might be wondering what exactly is monoprinting?

Monoprinting is a form of printmaking where the image can only be made once, unlike most printmaking which allows for exact replicas of the original.

This style of printmaking celebrates the beauty of imperfection. I love to call it the dance of spontaneity. It begins as the paper interacts with paint on a specially designed printing plate, and from there the process takes on a life of its own.

The definition of ‘mono’ is one or singular, meaning each print is a one-of-a-kind creation. All Joyace prints are editions of one.

Every wall art print is meticulously crafted slowly by hand, allowing me to build the unique layers and characteristics of each print. The process is never perfect but I have learned to love the imperfections and embrace the inherent beauty that makes each mono print truly unique.
